Hutchison MediPharma Invites Dr. Ferid Murad, Nobel Laureate, to HMPL for Academic Exchange and Cooperation

Today, Hutchison MediPharma invited Dr. Ferid Murad, the Nobel Laureate, to the company for academic exchange and cooperation. Dr. Ferid Murad won the 1998 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his discovery concerning nitric oxide as a signaling molecule in the cardiovascular system, which granted his reputation worldwide as the Father of Nitric Oxide. This time Dr. Ferid Murad was invited by Hutchison MediPharma to give the lecture and it was also his first time to visit Hutchison MediPharma. He visited each department in the company, and gave high praise of the rapid development and scientific achievements of Hutchison MediPharma. He also showed great interests in the cooperation with Hutchison MediPharma. Then, a further discussion was conducted on possible collaboration.

Dr. Murad has given an excellent lecture entitled Innovative Drug Discovery Trends with Nitric Oxide and Cyclic GMP to the audience, shared his experience of the discovery and introduced the up-to-minute achievements and development trends in the arena of science and technology. Representatives of enterprises in Zhang Jiang Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai Institute of Material Medica and Shanghai TCM University also made their presence at the seminar.
